Covington, Louisiana, USA – Home to Fat Lester’s Annual Post-Christmas Bonfire and Oyster Extravaganza

Every year, on the day after Christmas (December 26, for those of you in Rio Linda), I host an all-day and all-night gathering (read: “party”) way out in rural unincorporated St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. By day, we eat several sacks of raw oysters and drink beer. By night, we light a gargantuan bonfire that gets bigger each year.

While I don’t remember the exact year when we had our inaugural post-Christmas party, it was sometime in the mid-1990′s, so we’ve earned the right to call it a tradition at this point.

This year’s extravaganza was an unusually successful event, even by our standards (my cohorts and I have a reputation for putting on good parties). The few previous years leading up to the 2009 event had seen dwindling attendance, with very few guests making it all the way until sunrise. Well, this time we made up for any slacking we might have been guilty of in years past.

I have included some photos below from the event. One thing I am particularly proud of about both the party as well as the photos, is that they once again confirm the old adage that chicks dig guys with big domain names.

I’d like to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to Jaime Taylor for rounding up all the hotties and assembling my harem.

That’s Jaime Taylor pictured front-left.  He really came through for the team that night, stocking the place with beautiful women and helping make this one party we’ll never forget.

So, for those of you who are not domainers or who have been considering investing into domain names, this collection of photos should give you a pretty good idea of just how awesome it is to register, buy and sell domain names for a living!

For what it’s worth, I had to make some tough choices about which photos to include in this post.  In the interests of maintaining a semi-family-friendly blog, I decided not to post any photos taken that night that could be construed by some as constituting “evidence”. Sorry, but even I have to draw the line somewhere.
