I recently read a couple of intriguing news stories involving Oprah Winfrey. The first was that she’d be ending her TV show in 2011. The second was a list of the world’s top-10 most influential women. She was listed at #5, but should have been the obvious #1 when it comes to most powerful women in the world.
I would not be the least bit surprised to see her to run for President in 2012 and overwhelmingly defeat current President Barack Obama for the Democrat nomination. Bobby Jindal (or whoever the GOP nominee turns out to be), will face a far more difficult challenge if Oprah wins the 2012 Democratic Presidential nomination.

If Obama is wise, he’ll begin digging up dirt immediately and pay Steadman whatever he demands for any dirt he can secure on her. If the election were today, Oprah would easily split the black vote with Obama, and would win far more handily among female voters or both parties and especially independents.
I know this may sound like crazy speculation coming from someone you’ve likely never heard of before, but do not be surprised if a scenario similar to the one described above does in fact become reality. Oprah is well aware of her power, and she knows she has far more appeal in terms of appealing to voters in a hypothetical future election. She’s accomplished just about everything else in life once can accomplish short of being elected Head-of-State.
I’m sure she’s considered the possibility of her being the American Government’s first woman president. She obviously has a taste for the limelight, I’ve seen nothing that would indicate she wouldn’t salivate at the opportunity to make history as the world’s most important country’s first female President. The fact is that she’s easily beat whomever she faced for the Democrat nomination, and she’s be the only Democrat who may be able to succeed following a disastrous four-year Presidency and a historically inept House and Senate spanning 4 or 6 years depending on what happens in 2010. If anyone could pull off such an unlikely victory given Americans’ recent tendency to perform mass legislative overhauls every few years in which incumbents are thrown out en masse — if anyone has such capability it is Oprah Winfrey.
This leads me to my point. Given the above, now might just be the perfect time for cunning domain investors to start registering domain names related to Oprah Winfrey, as well as a some pertaining to ‘Oprah for President’, ‘President Winfrey’, Oprah 2012, and the likes.
She’s an ambitious woman, and to rule out a Presidential run on her behalf would be foolish given all she’s already accomplished along with the suspicious timing of her departure from TV.
If your a domain speculator who delves into the political realm, not is the time to start snatching up those Oprah domain names. If I had the funds to expand upon my own domain portfolio you’d better believe I’d be jumping on this one and registering the names myself as opposed to blogging about it.
Also, this is totally unrelated to the main post save for the political similarities, but can you believe Sarah Palin’s Book “Going Rouge” sold more than a quarter-million copies its first day in print. That is absolutely amazing. It mightn’t be a bad idea to reconsider investing in a few Palin-related names. It does seem she’s got quite a bit of selling-power. More power to her. I appreciate a person who is able to recognize an opportunity and capitalize on it.
