I am at a loss for that one as well. Going after the guy in court certainly didn’t help Meg Whitman win over any sympathy from voters, and it showed in California’s most recent gubernatorial election.

I’ve registered politicians’ names before (from both sides of the aisle), so this one was of particular interest to me as well.

That in itself must have stung like an elephant-sized bumble bee.

You make a good point about Whitman not wanting it appear weak, but a minor spat over a few domain names is hardly the venue where you want to see a prospective candidate for state governor flexing their legal muscles.

It’s moments like these that you’d prefer them to exhibit some sense of perspective, humility and above all, a sense of humour.

These precedent setting lawsuits should receive more publicity than they’ve been getting from mainstream domain industry publications.
